I can Take the Despair - it's the Hope I Can't Stand

 And #WowOnWednesday Link-Up

Gail Hanlon from Is This Mutton on a long running restructuring saga at work

Dear friends.  The title of today's post is a memorable quote from a very funny film, Clockwise starring John Cleese.

It's the reason my post is late.  Yesterday I didn't get round to writing the post I had been planning.  I had been expecting that my application for voluntary redundancy would be accepted. I'd been optimistic that the exciting plans I've been making for retirement would start falling into place.
Instead I learnt too many people had applied, and so my request was turned down.

I've been working for 43 years, 25 years in semi-conductors, and frankly I'm done.  You suddenly know when it's the right time.

Gail Hanlon from Is This Mutton on the occasional curve balls in life

Today I am positive again.  It's good that I have the day off as it gives me thinking time. My Myers-Briggs profile, INTJ, "The Architect" , the rarest profile for women, is a persona of an analytical thinker and strategist.

Today's outfit sees me pairing two of the most scary colours for those analysed as winter,  acid yellow and black.  I love both. Ignore those who say women over 50 shouldn't wear black. See how the yellow becomes less acidic, while softening the column of black? And black is always a good colour for the corporate battle.

Details:  acid yellow short tie wrap and suede belt, Kettlewell Colours;  culottes, old, Hope;  top, Damsel in a Dress; sandals, so old I can't remember!

  1. So sorry your VolRed didn’t work out. I thought you’d just switched jobs a few years ago, so maybe you were down the list. Sounds like it’s something that many want. Plod on eh. Know what you mean though, at 57 I semi retired and at 61 I gave up proper. It was my time.
Love that working of your colours, the citrus with the saturate colour black.
