Blue Cashmere Jumper 2 Ways

Gail Hanlon from Is This Mutton in Royal Cobalt cashmere jumper from Lands' End

 & WowOnWednesday

Dear friends. One thing I find very hard to resist is anything made of cashmere.  I remember buying my first cashmere jumper a few years ago (black, ribbed) and realising anything else would always feel inferior.

So when Land's End got in touch to offer a coat, I managed to persuade them to make it a cashmere jumper. A great decision - I'm very impressed with this crew neck jumper in Royal Cobalt.

It feels very soft and looks neat and well made. The colour is to die for, but there's plenty of choice with 21 different versions, some plain, some striped.  I sized down, as I like a jumper to be fitted. The jumper costs £160 but if you use a code, you can get up to 60% off.  View all their cashmere styles. The packaging was superb, really quite special.

I've styled the jumper 2 different ways.  I added extra warmth for winter with a silky roll neck from Kettlewell in acid yellow, plus their acid yellow suede belt.  Jeans from M&S and white trainers from Adidas.

The second look features a blue corduroy skirt and pull-on blue boots from Boden (both old), with a fur collared bomber jacket (old) from Asos.  The necklace adds a bit of wow. I found it in a charity shop. I chose green rather than blue tights to highlight the green in the bomber jacket.

I have other styling ideas up my sleeve!

There's sometimes an assumption that cashmere is difficult to look after.  I don't find it the case.  I wash my cashmere on the delicates cycle at 30 degrees, with non-bio detergent, and then dry it flat, never on a washing line or in a tumble dryer.  Sometimes you get pilling over time, but I have one of those little cashmere combs and it soon gets rid of them.

In the summer, I pack away my cashmere in vacuum bags from Lakeland.  I also take precautions against moths all year round, using Lakeland's wardrobe "hangers" and refills.

If you find merino or other types of wool prickly, as I sometimes do, you'll enjoy the feel of cashmere. It's more expensive, but if you're careful the jumpers / cardigans will last for many years.

I was gifted with a cashmere crew neck jumper from Lands' End. I was not asked for copy approval or to give affiliate links. My views and editorial opinions are always my own.
