In The Pink - and #WowOnWednesday Link Up

Pink midi skirt from Marks and Spencer worn with pink and white rose print blouse and white 40s style wedges.
Last week in my post about making poor fashion choices for summer  I mentioned I had my eye on a particular pink skirt. Here it is in all its pepto-bismol glory.  Reader, I bought it. I love the length, colour and the fact it has a belt. Check it out here. Pink is centre stage for spring/summer 2019: there are variations of it everywhere. And pink really does suit everyone.
There's a shade of pink for all of us. I look washed out in pale or dusky pinks, but come alive in fuchsia (my favourite shade). I have happy memories of "millennial pink" because I was wearing a silk blouse in this shade when I was interviewed for my job, 18 months ago.

I've never felt guilty for wearing pink because of its "girly" or "Barbie" connotations. To me it's a happy, vibrant colour.

You'll be spoilt for choice if you want some pink to brighten your complexion this summer. Candy or sugar pink is the trendiest shade, but all the other pinks are in the mix. Different pinks look great together in colour blocking, and pink always looks wonderful with green or grey.

I'm wearing my skirt two ways. My favourite look is the one shown at the top with a rose patterned top and elegant 40s style white sandals with perspex heels.
Different shades of pink worn together: midi skirt with jacket and light green top and wedges with a statement deep pink tote bag
I then created a more dressy look for work with my new pink jacket and a light green top and green wedges. Look at that fabulous tote bag! I had my eye on it months ago when it first went on sale at The Bias Cut, but I baulked at £400. Last week I went to their London pop up, and the last bag was on sale so I had to snap it up. It has a detachable inner purse. I just love the quirkiness of the bag.
Pink is a great choice if you're a mother of the bride or groom, or wedding guest, this year. I've included some dresses in the shopping guide below.

  1. Oh what a perfect skirt! What an amazing color, my favorite is actually the second look. With that green tee it is so bright and cheerful!
