Wear Your Summer Skirt All Year Round- and Link Up

As the weather starts to turn autumnal, I'm starting to transition my wardrobe and thinking about prolonging the life of some of my summer skirts and trousers. I picked up this Oasis wrap print skirt for just £20 from Debenhams in the sale, and, forced indoors by wet weather, I styled it with white boots rather than white trainers.

I have a white cardigan, also from Oasis, that will be perfect with the skirt on cooler days, and also a slouchy winter white jumper from last year.  The top I'm wearing was £10 from River Island - I like the boat neckline which suits most of us.

I fell in love with the print and colours of this skirt but it's a little tricky to style. Normally I would wear a top/cardi that picks out some of the colours in the skirt, but none of them, are very flattering to me next to the skin. White works for nearly everyone.  For autumn/winter long boots and tights would also be warm and toasty.
At least the room decor matched!

I don't usually welcome autumn, but this year I feel more positive about it. I prefer winter clothes. Sleeping is much easier on cooler nights, and it's nice to feel cosy.  There's no pressure to be out in the evenings. The garden will take less of my time, and have a well deserved rest. Strictly Come Dancing is back (and usually a host of good new dramas). And Christmas is the jewel of the winter season, a beautiful time in London.

Anyway, it's still only August and we usually get good weather in September, so hoping for a final blast of summer!

I got the white boots towards the end of last winter in the Russell & Bromley sale. I wasn't sure if I would wear them very much but I did - they were very versatile. I'm looking for a longer pair of white boots this year and will wear both pairs a lot.

  1. I remember you getting those fab white boots last year. I'm not good at wearing cross seasonally. I reality need to be more adventurous
