More green in 2017

How to colour match a problem skirt
I started this year with a post about "Green in 2017," and it's been one of the best read so far. It was about my love of the colour green, and how green had been chosen by Pantone as its colour of the year, in the "greenery" manifestation.
The other day I happened to hang up a Boden floral skirt next to a green cropped cardigan, both of which I hardly ever wear, and I was surprised I'd never thought to wear them together.

The skirt has been a little problematic in that it has several colours in it which don't cry out to be used in a top: pale pink, grey, navy  (none are colours that really suit me). Fortunately there is some green, so I've matched it to the cardi and added bright pink shoes. I always love pink with green.  I used a silver belt and necklace to go with the grey tones in the skirt.

More on Is This Mutton? about using green and pink togetherGreen and pink always look great together. Choose a blue or yellow toned green, depending on your skin colour
The advertised post, clothes with pearls, features some AW17 buys, and seeing as the UK weather has finally taken a turn for the better, I thought I'd park that for a week or two!

  1. Green is wonderful on you, Gail, and those pink sandals really finish the outfit perfectly! Thanks for your kind words on my blog, and for linking up. XO

  2. I love these colours. And I also love to wear short cardigans. On skirts and dresses. You styled it very well with the bright pink sandals!

    1. I'm going to stock up on the short cardigans! Boden have a lot more in now. Thanks Nancy!

  3. This is a great pairing on you, green suits your colouring and the cut suits your curves. Just love that skirt!

  4. Super Gail, this is lovely together. Isn't it nice to try out different combinations and find they work! You my dear also have a fantastic figure - looking good Hun. x Jacqui

  5. Beautiful outfit, love these colours together Gail :) Thanks for sharing at Creative Mondays.

  6. Green is my favourite colour! I absolute love it.... and it does go with so many other colours too. I just love your outfit - you're right that the cardigan goes wonderfully well with the skirt. The pink sandals are perfect with this whole ensemble too! That last photo of you is absolutely stunning, Gail!! <3

    1. Thanks Suzy, I'm already looking at more green buys for autumn winter!

  7. You look lovely, Gail! Not only because the skirt and the top go happily together, but also for your delicate smiling and the light into your eyes!!
    Great hairstyle too...

  8. Thanks for joining the Top of the World Style linkup party with your post. It's such a nice style element to belt the cardigan. So chic.

  9. While green is my favorite color, I usually wear olive when I wear green because I migrate toward earth tones. Of course, this bright green is gorgeous and if we call it grass green it is certainly an earth tone, too. Your lip color is so pretty with the green. And I love that flirty little bag.

I am so out of the loop, what is AW17? When I see AW I think of A&W root beer. Probably not the right AW in this instance.

    1. Just seeing your latest post...I think I know what AW is!! Autumn/Winter???

    2. That's right Leslie --- I should have written it in full. I normally try to include "Fall" as well as Autumn (we only say Autumn in the UK).

  10. You look so beautiful in green. Your shoes in pink are my favorit. Regards Martina from Munich - www.lady50plus.de

    1. Thank you Martina, and great to see you visit! I love Munich, lived there for nearly two years a while back.

  11. Funny how sometimes when we rearrange our closet, that we discover a new combination! I LOVE this green on you and the pop of magenta with you sandals, so pretty! I get the Boden catalogue and am pretty tempted.Of course, green is one of my favorite colors.
    Thanks for linking!

    1. You look wonderful in green with your colouring Jess!

  12. This beautiful shade of emerald green suits you so well Gail! It pairs with the skirt perfectly too, and the pink accents with your sandals and lipstick are the perfect finishing touches. Thanks for linking up!
