December Madness {2023}

Requiem, the stunning stairwell artwork at Tate Britain in memory of those who died in the Grenfell Tower fire.

Dear friends. Just like that, the year draws to a close. The weather in December was mostly mild, except at the start, with a few blustery and showery spells. I saw Madness in Bournemouth, had a girls' night out, a couple of museum trips, lots of walks and of course we celebrated Christmas.

Latest Outfits

 & #WowOnWednesday

Is This Mutton features some recent outfits with not a Christmas jumper in sight.

Dear friends.  Hope you all had a suitably festive and enjoyable break. I'm always glad when it's all over, but I expect that's a minority view!

December is for Dressing Up!

Dear friends. Welcome to the last Style Not Age Challenge of the year.  It was my turn to set the prompt, and I went with "December is for Dressing Up." We usually have a festive attire prompt in December - see previous challenges below.

I am always looking for a gold skirt and sequins in "my" spring colours, so I was thrilled to find this faux leather skirt from Never Fully Dressed.  It has a tie belt which is useful for pulling the waist in, as this type of  material can be a bit rigid.

I found the lime sequin top back in the summer at M&S and knew it would be pressed into service over Christmas!

The boots are also a current season purchase from Oliver Bonas. The bag is an old purchase from New Look. I use it on our summer holiday because it's quite spacious!

I'm not wearing this outfit today, Christmas Day.  It's just me and hubs today and he would think I'd gone mad if I appeared wearing this. Tomorrow there will be 8 of us for Boxing Day and I'll probably wear a (tasteful) Christmas jumper.

Let's see how the other members of the Style Not Age collective got on. Anna from Anna's Island Style is wearing a Christmas present from her son, a silver and gold trouser suit by Lavish Alice. Boots are old, silver and white sequin top is a charity shop find and all jewellery is old.

This is what Hilda from Over the Hilda is wearing today. A stylish but comfortable co-ords set from FRNCH, current.

Jacqui from Mummabstylish has a splash of festive red with trousers from Tu via Vinted, shirt borrowed from her daughter, shoes New Look and beads a present from one of the children when they were at school.

Emma from Stylesplash is suffering from a cold - get well soon - but still looks fabulous.  Shes wearing River Island sequin trousers (bought last year), a top from Dona Hortensia in Funchal, SkinnyDip London bag and old New Look boots.

Hope you enjoyed our festive finery.  Thee are more pics on the other girls' blogs. What are you wearing today and tomorrow? Do share in the comments.  Something special, a fun Christmas jumper, PJs?

All that remains is to wish you a wonderful Christmas and festive celebration.  Pop back on Wednesday for another new post, and a review of December and 2023 on Friday.

Tell Us About....Celebration

 1970s Christmas tree baubles.

Dear friends. Our final Tell Us About prompt for 2023 is in the hands of Debbie from Deb's World and it's Celebration.

Let's get in my time machine and go back to the 60s and 70s for a typical birthday and Christmas celebration.
