Polka Dot Triple - And LInk Up

Garden shot of over-50s style blogger Gail Hanlon in polka dot frilled bottom trousers, polka dot top and polka dot sling back shoes
I recently saw in a fashion magazine a picture where the model was wearing nothing but polka dots in many different variations. I immediately decided to try the same thing.  Here we have polka dots three times.  It could have been four, because I have a polka dot jacket, but I thought that would be over-egging things.
The top was a purchase from Marks and Spencer in early March - you can see it here, with the jacket. The trousers are a pair I absolutely love.  I didn't wear them at all last summer because they'd got too tight, so I'm pleased to have them back in the wardrobe again. There's something very joyous about the flirty wide legged bottoms.

Finally the shoes add a bit more polka dot fun. They came from Miss Selfridge a couple of years ago.

I've become quite daring in my pattern mixing now - I even like to see stripes and polka dots together.

If you want to try your own polka dots medley, I've found a few pieces to buy in the shopping guide below, at all price points.  These are affiliate links so I receive a couple of pence if you click through.  Nothing was gifted for this post.

Now it's time for #WowOnWednesday - the link up where everyone gains. Readers can find new blogs to enjoy and bloggers can find new readers!

Last week's most clicked post was by Mireille from Chez Mireille and her post Favourite Lockdown Look for April and May. I love the casual chic of the look below: the statement tee, the trainers (sneakers) and the kimono. I saw in another blog that someone was asking if kimonos are very popular in the UK and Europe. Probably not as much as they are in the US, although I think they're incredibly useful for adding a bit of drama and glamour to an outfit.

My favourite non-fashion post was by a new participant in the link up, Mary Katherine from MK's Style Adventures, and her post about her marvelous mother-in-law. She introduced us to Goodie (Gudrun) who's 88 and very stylish, with quite a few accomplishments under her belt.  She worked at IBM; she made riding clothes for her family's equestrian pursuits, and helped to bring a particular event to Kentucky, and she still spends time every week with people who have Altzheimer's. I love to read about women from "the silent generation" because in the days before Women's Lib and feminism, it was hard for women to achieve very much in their own right.
