Holiday Outfit Ideas with Cotton Traders

 And Wow on Wednesday

Look good over 60 with Is This Mutton, showing several ways to style 3 key pieces from Cotton Traders.

Dear friends. Today I'm creating a few outfits for spring and summer holidays using three pieces from Cotton Traders.

I chose a pair of striped trousers, a tie-front top and a cotton shirt. All very versatile, as I hope to prove.

The striped pull-on trousers, top pic, were a bit of a revelation because they're not a style I would normally choose.  They have a fashionable wide leg and discreet side pockets . The best thing, though, is they come in a choice of leg lengths.  I'm wearing a size 10, length 29 inches. I'm 5'4  (strictly speaking, 5.3 and a half, but I don't like to remind myself that I appear to be shrinking).

I'm wearing the trousers with an aquamarine tee, current, from Kettlewell, and sandals, last year, from Vionic.

Below, the trousers are styled with a denim jacket and white trainers plus a real hero piece, the Cotton Traders stripe relaxed cotton shirt.  This gives a bit of sutble pattern mixing.

Many of us prefer cotton for hot days and this is extremely good quality. I sized down to an 8 as relaxed fits can often swamp me. This arctic blue colourway has blue and aquamarine stripes.  It sells for £34.

On the subject of white trainers, fashionistas have been saying they're out this year. But they're not going anywhere, from what I saw at the Chelsea Flower Show  (both young and older women).

A pair of patterned trousers, a check blouse and a tie front top can be styled several ways as Is This Mutton shows with 3 pieces from Cotton Traders.

The all important rear view!

Here's the shirt close-up so you can see the two colours.

And here it is with white chinos (old, M&S), Artisan brogues in aqua from Embassy London (current) and vegan leather bag from Fenella Smith (current). This is a good outfit for sight seeing.

Some of us love our cropped trousers in the summer, including me, and below I'm wearing the shirt with my cobalt crops from Roman and Vionic sandals (old).

The third piece I chose is a deep lilac tie front top, which also comes in white, £32. Tie fronts are great for helping to create a waist.  The broderie detail on the sleeves is on-trend. The easy care crinkle fabric is great for being "wash and shake", and not creasing much in your suitcase.

I've added some glamour to the top with two Georgian style crystal necklaces. Dressed up, it could easily take you to a dinner or winebar, partiularly with a glamorous pair of sandals  (below, sandals, old, M&S);  cropped trousers, Roman.

For chillier evenings or travel, add a light jacket.  I love yellow with purple. This is my soft yellow Chloe jacket from Kettlewell (current).

I enjoyed putting these outfits together and will look forward to wearing my three pieces in Greece very soon.  Which is your favourite look?  Do tell in the comments. Scroll down below the link-up for the comments box.
