And #Tuesday Twirl
Dear friends. They're the sell out sensation that are surprisingly flattering. I'm talking about barrel jeans, having seized what seemed like the last two pairs in M&S recently.
I tried barrel jeans a few months ago from a different brand but didn't like them. Now I love them, and will show you today how I've been styling them.
My pairs are in indigo and cream, and both size 10. They're a little big on me (I'm in a UK 10) but I couldn't find any in an 8. Being a bit loose actually suits the style of these laid back jeans.
You may think mine are too long. Someone said this on Instagram. However, I'm not keen on "ankle grazer" length, which I always think of as half-mast. They're regular length. If you want a shorter jean, suggest you try M&S's petite version.
Go For a Fitted Top
As they're baggy, these jeans look best with a fairly fitted top. For footwear, they suit trainers or, for a more dressy look, flat shoes like my gold T-bars from Oliver Bonas.
I wore this outfit (top pic) for a pub lunch. It was before the present heat wave! The tee and jacket are from Kettlewell, vegan bag from Fenella Smith.
I didn't add a belt as usual, preferring to keep the look low key.
The Problem with the Cream Pair
Well, too funny. I thought the cream pair were great, but after taking pictures, realised they're far too big. In most shots , they're baggy and gathered around the crotch. I can't send them back as I have worn them so I will have to donate them to a charity shop.
This one picture was the best of a bad lot, and just to show a more dressed up version of barrel jeans. Here I'm wearing them with the new Jasmine top in Pink Fizz from Kettlewell and gold flats from Oliver Bonas.
It's Time to Twirl
