The big story for boots this winter will soon turn into long boots, particularly with skirts and dresses. It's all part of the "modesty dressing" trend, where a midi skirt and long boots takes away any risk of seeing leg.
I haven't bought a pair of long boots for years and wanted a dark brown, low heeled pair from Dune London that would also look good with trousers or jeans tucked in.
Lux cream, oat, brown and caramel shades are big this winter so I added a brown velvet top from Marks and Spencer, a brown waist cinching belt and a long wool blend textured cardigan in mushroom, also from Marks and Spencer. My clutch is a couple of years old, as is the green and brown necklace.

Great idea! I have a similar summer skirt! I am going to wear that one this week now, thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteNot only do I love that khaki button-front skirt but also styled with the belt. The long cardigan and boots are gorgeous. You are dressed up without feeling too fancy. Love it!
ReplyDeleteWelcome by Thursdays to join my linkup, my friend.
Happy Holidays! Ada. =)
Thanks Ada and Happy Holidays to you too!
DeleteI love the midi look! (On everyone else... On me it just looks like I'm standing in a flowerpot, unless I wear heels, and I can't be bothered.) I'll have to get my modesty vibe with opaque tights and boots with my knee length dresses. You've inspired me with that leopard clutch again! I'm on the hunt now for one with a cooler tone.
ReplyDeleteVery clever styling Gail, I love the layering and different textures. I bought a pair of brown leather boots from Dune over ten years ago and they're still going strong! Thanks for linking up!
