Until recently, my loungewear most of the time was a pair of jeans and a sweater, or occasionally, after my walk, staying in my hiking chinos, a sportswear top and a fleece. Last week I decided enough was enough; I have a wardrobe full of clothes that are hardly seeing the light of day. So after my morning walk or workout I'm now putting on a 'proper' outfit for my working day at home. More of that in another post.
I've actually always wanted a cashmere loungewear set in pale colours, but I was put off by a) the price, and b) the idea of the pants becoming bobbly or baggy. Not a good look. This matching hoody and jogging pants from Mango does the same job but, as it's not cashmere, at a fraction of the price. It's very soft and not itchy in the least.
I love pale colours like oatmeal, cream and beige, but bright colors suit me much better. I have a handy tip for wearing colors that don't flatter you. Make sure you have a color that suits you close to the face. I recently discovered the Ashade Chinese Blue at Kettlewell which is my perfect blue - I've long been looking for one! Their range of infinity scarves like the one I'm wearing is great for adding a pop of colour. The lounge set is in size small but the hoody is deliberately over sized, and as you can see, that's a style and shape that does nothing for me. I look huge. This is what the half tuck was made for! My slippers, from Marks and Spencer, were a Christmas present. On a side note, my hair was cut in late November and you can see it needs a trim. The trouble with shorter hair is that is quickly grows out of its style and is difficult to deal with. I have bought a pair of hairdressers' scissors so I may well have a go myself, and share the process and results!
Now let's see what the other girls in the challenge came up with. Anna from Anna's Island Style has a glamorous look in her boudoir. She's wearing an all-in-one from ASOS that was a birthday present from her daughter yesterday. Hilda from Over the Hilda looks chic while lounging in her Primark hoodie and old elasticated pants from Carraig Donn. Slip ons are from Zara. Emma from Stylesplash has found a fantastic pair of sparkly joggers in Asda. She chose a black and sparkly theme with the star sweater, which was bought in a charity shop a few years ago, and her embellished sock trainers are an Asos buy from a couple of years ago.
