Dear friends. It's still hot here in London with nary a sprinkling of any rain. I get a bit bored with wearing summer clothes so today I'm sharing a new arrival.
It's the new colourblock jumper from Kettlewell in salmon pink/red coral.
I was excited to see the return of salmon pink. It's a pretty warm pink. There is a colourblock cardigan too which could be worn with it as a twinset. For me the jumper is enough. It's a neat fitted shape, true to size. I'm wearing a UK 10 (US 6).
I styled it with cream wide legged jeans from M&S and my pink brogues from Embassy London. I have a faux suede jacket in red coral and think this will make a good pairing. Not one for Mr Mutton!
The shoes are not a great match, I see that now!
I've got a few new pieces for autumn (as we call Fall). I bought two pairs of ponte trousers in purple and warm red back in March or April and it's been too warm to wear them yet. I also bought a couple more jumpers from Kettlewell in the sale. You may ask why the stockpiling? Well, when you're colour analysed as a Spring, you have to act fast if you see clothes in our colours for the colder seasons.
The Colours of Autumn
From what I've seen of the autumn retail drops so far, the only Spring colour that is around is yellow, and I have enough of that. There's a lot of magenta, pale blue and burgundy around. Brown is still popular and for that I'm grateful as it's a good neutral for Springs. Those analysed autumn will also find plenty in their hues. I've seen quite a lot of petrol blue, chartreuse and oranges.
I know a lot of you prefer not to think about autumn and winter while we're still in summer, but I find there's lots to look forward to in the cooler months. I love summer, of course, and the longer days, but autumn and winter have a more relaxed pace, driven sometimes by the weather. It's nice to stay indoors as the rain lashes down, with comfort foods, better TV shows and books. The odd blue sky day, with wonderful winter light, is a huge bonus.
Clothes for cooler weather are also far superior in my view, with the opportunity to wear layers and delicious fabrics like velvet, cashmere and wool. Not to mention boots and hats!

The way you describe the cooler months, sounds a lot more appealing. But I still can't get over the fact that summer is almost over. I hate it, has to do with my health, the colour months are not my best. Love the jumper and those trousers. I'm a autumn, so I'm lucky, haha.
