Sparkle with stars and silver

The weather, we are warned, is about to become arctic. After a fantastic summer, and warm autumn, temperatures in London plunged to 4 degrees (39) yesterday and 6 degrees (42) today with showers. Plus we put the clocks back, so darkness will fall around four o'clock. Faced with the thought of five months of gloomy weather, I treated myself - early - to a Christmas jumper. That's a sweater to my US friends.

This is what I wore to a birthday party last night, and the great thing is, the jumper/sweater is not too overtly "Christmassy" so I can probably wear it a few times before Christmas Day. You see, a Christmas jumper is not just for Christmas!

I did consider wearing it with my silver boots, but the sequinned stars are so stand out, I thought I would let them shine and dial down my boots and jewellery. I simply added black kitten heel boots and a small metallic clutch. The skirt I bought very cheaply last year on eBay. You've seen here before, here and here.

What's your view on Christmas jumpers?  a) An abomination;  b) OK for Christmas Day only;  c) Not too bad if they're subtle with no reindeer or Santas.
