Maxi Madness! Style Not Age Challenge

Dear friends. A month has sped by and it's time for the Style Not Age Challenge. This is when five women in their 40s, 50s and 60s set each other a style challenge each month. This time it was the turn of Hilda and she chose "Maxi Madness."

My maxi dress has been in the wardrobe for a while but the madness is, it's never been worn. I've mentioned before the strange psychological block I have with dresses, particularly long ones! I seem to think they need to be worn only at fairly formal events.

My dress has tiny gold stars on a green background, and is in a silky material. It came from Asos. I'm wearing it with my old and much loved sandals from Accessorize. I can see now it's a good dress for a summer holiday. My next holiday is in the Lake District in a few weeks' time, so probably not appropriate for that!

HILDA FROM OVER THE HILDA: MAXI SKIRT

Hilda bought her dazzling skirt from a local boutique and wore it recently on her and Graham's wedding anniversary when they stayed a night in a fab hotel and were upgraded to a suite. The top is old. Shoes from Asos. See more photos at Over the Hilda.

EMMA AT STYLESPLASH

Emma's wrap dress is by Stella Nova and was a gift from Jacynth at from The Bias Cut as a thank you for taking part in a campaign on social media. Emma says she loves it, it fits so well, and the colours are perfect for late summer/early autumn. The orange bag is from a local boutique. More pictures at Stylesplash.

JACQUI FROM MUMMABSTYLISH

Jacqui's maxi is actually her my daughter's, and she says the madness is she managed to get into it and it's a size 10! The dress is from Asos. Jacqui wore her rust espadrilles, Steve Madden orange bag and a floppy hat. More pictures at Mummabstylish.

ANNA FROM ANNA'S ISLAND STYLE

The ever-colourful Anna is wearing her favourite pink and orange combination. Dress is from Hush last year, sandals and jewellery are all old. More pictures: Anna's Island Style
