And #WowOnWednesday
Dear friends. Bouclé, or Lady Jackets, are having a bit of a moment. It's hard to find an actual definition, but to me a lady jacket is a short jacket with a round collar and fancy buttons. They're very versatile and can be used to dress up jeans, or popped over a dress.
Here are some styling ideas for two of my lady jackets.
The tweedy number in lime and yellow at the top of the post is from Cotton Traders (gifted 2023). This colour way is out of stock but they have a similar jacket in soft pink or sky blue for £65. I've created a casual vibe with white jeans (M&S) and a lime sweatshirt (Kettlewell). The snakeskin brogues (Embassy London) add a bit of fun. Vegan leather bag by Fenella Smith.
I've had a white bouclé jacket since 2018 - it came from River Island. As you can see, it's hugely versatile.
Here it acts as the calming balance in some pattern mixing. Trousers, old, F&F.
Getting into the polka dot action! Here I'm inspired by the Chanel vibes of the jacket and have added pearls and dots with shimmer tights for a feminine look.
Finally the white jacket with white boots worn with brown. The flared trousers actually date from the early 1990s. They're the oldest piece I have (apart from a couple of "new' to me 60s items!). It's interesting to see how my skin tone looks so much better with the brown than with the black in previous pictures, which is all to do with brown being a warm toned colour.
