Latest Outfits

 & #WowOnWednesday

Is This Mutton features some recent outfits with not a Christmas jumper in sight.

Dear friends.  Hope you all had a suitably festive and enjoyable break. I'm always glad when it's all over, but I expect that's a minority view!

Today I'm sharing a few outfits from the last few days.   At the top is the outfit I wore to Tate Britain to see the Sarah Lucas exhibition  (more in my December review on Friday).  It's been very mild lately, around 11 degrees, so it was perfect weather for my charity-shopped red coat.  Underneath I'm wearing black Levi's jeans, black M&S boots and red coral faux wrap with apple mint top by Kettlewell.

The red faux wrap got another airing at the Nativity service, along with my cream ruched skirt and pink flamingo Cate jacket (both Kettlewell). Bag, Dune, and boots, old, from Lotus.

Next is a comfy casual outfit, worn at home when we had company. Scarves can look a bit ageing when worn around the neck - everyone thinks you're trying to hide it - but I like the splash of colour from wearing an infinity scarf in a long loop.  Scarf, top and long cardigan from Kettlewell, jeans from M&S.

These purple wool trousers were a great Vinted find, and are Jigsaw brand. There is an awful lot of rubbish on Vinted but if you search for something specific, like purple trousers, you can often find a gem. I'm wearing them with a pre-loved ribbed shirt in aquarius by Kettlewell. I'm not very good at mirror selfies as you can see!

I didn't dress up on Christmas Day. It was just the two of us. We did a walk first, and it was easier to stay in athleisure and not mind if it got splashed by fat as I cooked the turkey crown.

On Boxing Day we hosted a family get together.  I wore the green M&S satin blouse featured last week, with jeans. Christmas is now over and I'm glad to be back to a normal routine. I don't count New Year's Eve as a celebration,  we're usually in bed before midnight.  I just hope 2024 will be a better year with less conflict and more kindness,  but I'm probably deluded.
